It was business, until it became personal!
Do you have a mentor that has influence your career? Your life?
People come into your life throughout your career and over time, become true personal friends. Mentors encourage belief within yourself. They offer you guidance. They help you develop the confidence you need to achieve the goals you know you want to accomplish! They are gifted with an ability to lead allowing you to see what you are really capable of! Some mentors may never realize how they have enhanced your life or shaped you as a person.
This page is designed to put the spotlight on Mentors! We want to recognize your Mentor!
I am so grateful to have more than just one Mentor. See a few of mine below!
Jeremy and Betsy Kessinger
Some people believe in you more than you believe in yourself! Jeremy and Betsy have done just that for me. I am so grateful for their friendship and can say Jeremy is one of the greatest bosses I have ever had. As they say, “they don’t make ‘em like they used to.” Thank you for your friendship and being a Mentor who has influenced my life in profound ways!
Norma Jean Alesii ~ Teacher, Retailer, Model
Norma Jean was one of my professors in college at Bryant & Stratton in Buffalo, NY from 1987-1989 and became my first Mentor. She influenced me as a young woman in so many ways! She passed away of breast cancer on June 8, 1999 at a very young age. She will always be a part of my story.
”Always have your lipstick on Lori because you never know who you are going to encounter!”
Our 5th Annual Carolina Women In Timber Conference is dedicated to another Mentor of mine (and it’s safe to say) a Mentor for MANY other women in the Timber Industry.
Susan Swanson
Read her story below. She left an impact on so many in the timber industry!
Loved and Missed By Many
Don and Fran Rice
Pamela N. Critz (pictured right)
Pam was my first Mentor in the timber business. I began my career with Hancock Forest Management in 2006. Pam has helped lead me to where I am now. Her guidance, support and encouragement has been life changing for me.
Thank you Friend.
Don Rice was the Director of Operations North America at GreenWood Resources. “I worked with Lori for 5 years. Lori was always looking ahead and on top of the details. During corporate changes, Lori found herself without a job. Fran and I were able to be an encouragement to her during that time. Lori maintained her love for the timber industry and those employed there. She maintained her dream for supporting Women In Timber. We are blessed to count Lori as a friend.” Don & Fran Rice
